Bio

Andrea Eby’s passion for history and geography drew her from a formal teaching career to her current role as a wine educator at WSG, where she guides others in exploring Italy’s diverse wine regions. As a devoted enthusiast of Italian culture, food, and wine, Andrea playfully likens herself to a bottle of Fiano—full-bodied, slightly nutty, and becoming ever more intriguing with age. Andrea’s upbringing on a farm endowed her with practical wisdom and a unique skill set that perfectly complement her expertise in wine and viticulture. Her career spans roles as a wine buyer, cellar hand, and an esteemed wine educator, writer, and judge at prestigious competitions such as the International Wine & Spirits Competition, International Wine Challenge, and Vinitaly 5 Star Wines. Andrea serves as the Italian Programs Director for the Wine Scholar Guild and co-authored the WSG Italian Wine Essentials program. She holds a DipWSET, is a Vinitaly International Academy Italian Wine Ambassador, a Certified Sommelier, and a Stage Two Master of Wine student—testaments to her unwavering dedication and passion for wine as more than just a beverage but a bridge connecting people and stories. For Andrea, the true essence of wine lies in the shared experiences and meaningful connections it creates.
