The Italian Wine Scholar program was very impactful for me. The level of knowledge is very high the program is excellent and the facilitators are professional and supportive. Achieving this certification will definitely be something I can use in my career. It aligns perfectly with my other certifications and increases my credibility with my clients.

IWS Unit 2 was a rewarding and challenging experience. The study manual was well laid out and well written. Highly recommended for industry professionals and those that what to go in depth on Italian wines.

Really appreciate that we can explore the details of Italian wine regions and these give me great ideas for my future travel! Just had a trip to Canary islands. Without taking WSG courses i would have never been aware of so many wonderful places on the planet. WSG has the best wine programs for everybody.

It was a truly wonderful 4-months experience to learn about Italian wine culture! I already have a WSET Diploma and started teaching a wine course (world of wines) at college last year. The main reason why I worked on IWS was that while teaching my wine course I realized that I really needed to learn more about Italian wine culture (I read history books such as Hugh Johnsons book and other wine books but they were not enough to grasp the Italian wine culture as a whole). Through the IWS program I was able to get a big picture of the Italian wine culture. The instructor-led courses were nothing but informative and fun! Through the courses I also found tasting friends and had fun online tasting sessions. Im now really into Italian wines and wine culture and plan to develop an Italian wine culture course with a travel component at my college. Thank you so much!!

I found the IWS Unit II to be a fascinating program of study which expanded my knowledge on the wines of Southern Central Italy way beyond my expectations.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Italian Wine Scholar course. It is impressively informative offering a deep dive into Italys complex terroirs and remarkable diversity of indigenous grape varieties. What could easily feel overwhelming is made approachable through a well-structured curriculum and clear engaging materials. It strikes a perfect balance between depth and accessibility making the rich tapestry of Italian wine both manageable and enjoyable.

The Italian Wine Scholar Part Two provided more than enough information to learn about Central and Southern Italy. It inspired me to travel more to the region and seek out wines from the various DOC/DOCGs. In addition I enjoyed learning about historical events that affected the region as well as its unique geographical features.

Being on the sales side of the industry the Italian Wine Scholar program has without a doubt provided me with an immense amount of information not previously known. I feel confident going into any meeting where Italian wines will be presented. The program also was able to cater to my busy schedule and did not put any pressure on me while completing.

The program is detailed and complete for providing knowledge of the wines throughout the area that would be useful to an audience that was deeply interested in wine production history and tasting quite a challenge for a country where every region is so different.

Great program looking forward to work with WSG again in the near future !

Great program for Italian wines not only good for wines but culture and history. Maps are very useful.

The Italian Wine Scholar is a detailed rigorous dive into the world of Italian Wine. The materials are presented beautifully and thoroughly with a lot of support from knowledgeable instructors in the online format. Students who pass this exam will have a deep knowledge of this region that is fun to explore!

The Italian Wine Scholar Program is an exceptionally in-depth study of the many varied idiosyncratic terroirs grapes and wine styles found across Italy presented in a compelling cohesive manner that both educates and inspires further study.

This is the 3rd course I have taken with the WSG (FWS IWS 1). And as in the first 2 this one was detailed and provided an amazing amount of knowledge on Southern Italy. The varied ways of learning i.e. Lecture reading interactive maps online E-learning flashcards and quizzes solidified the learning and gave me the confidence to pass the final exam. I will be taking the SWS and if available soon the GWS courses. Absolutely love them

Happy to become Italian Wine Scholar thanks to this profound and extensive programme. The book is a true reference for anyone who would like to become an Italian wine specialist. Enjoyed the studies and can recommend the programme to anyone professionally interested in Italian wines.

I highly recommend this program to whoever plans to get WSET diploma and/or become a certified sommelier… the IWS is way more complete than any mediocre program possibly exits out there! Staff manager and teacher are extremely professional and helpful too!
