Langhe & Nebbiolo d'Alba

About

Here are "just a few" of my favourite non-Barolo/Barbaresco Nebbiolos from the Langhe. This list is a mixture of more traditional producers (Pira, Borgogno, for example) and those who are more differentiated (Parusso) as well as different villages within the Barolo designation, including one from Barbaresco.
Enjoy!

Giacomo Fenocchio Nebbiolo Langhe

A lighter, but no less complex, style of Nebbiolo. My favourite Nebb to go with pasta & pesto!

Pira Luigi Nebbiolo Langhe

A fave Nebbiolo from Serralunga - juicy redcurrants and fragrant rosehips, but very elegant

Conterno Fantino Nebbiolo Langhe Ginestrino

A great example from Monforte d'Alba: a little more full bodied with some black fruit and cocoa complementing the more typical red fruit and violet notes

E. Pira & Figli Langhe Nebbiolo

Chiara Boschis: a great premium Nebb, silky red berries, blueberries and rose. Lots of intensity and a long finish

Parusso Ël Sartù Langhe Nebbiolo

Delicious, if not a typical Nebb due to airing of the grapes method! This and their Barolos taste like drinking a fig tree!

Cascina Carrà Tita Nebbiolo d'Alba Superiore

A baby Barolo (their vineyards fall just out of the Barolo designation in Monforte).

Borgogno Langhe Nebbiolo

The Bartomè Nebb from Barolo itself. Very Pinot Noir - game, redcurrants, rose

La Spinetta Langhe Nebbiolo

Nebbiolo from Neive - a commune of Barbaresco. Fuller bodied, more blackberries and spice. A great crowd pleaser!
