Alfred Gratien

If excellence had a name, it would surely be Alfred Gratien. In the heart of Champagne, just outside the center of Épernay, you’ll find the cellars of Alfred Gratien. It was here, on rue Maurice Cerveaux, that Alfred Gratien settled and created his first cuvées in 1864. Nearly 1,000 barrels stand stacked and lined up—the very essence of the house. Wood has been central to Alfred Gratien from the beginning, and barrel vinification has always been part of its approach. Tasting an Alfred Gratien Champagne is like reconnecting with the great Champagnes of the past.
