The story dates back to 1625, and likely earlier. Ancestors of the Cattier family were already working vines at that time on the terroir of Chigny-les-Roses in the heart of the Montagne de Reims.
Alexandre Cattier, son of Jean-Jacques, earned his national oenology diploma from the University of Reims in 2002. He joined the house after gaining experience in Australia, where he first honed his skills. His father then began passing down the secrets of blending their different cuvées, knowledge handed down from generation to generation.
Steeped in the house spirit, Alexandre continued his father’s work, taking over leadership in 2011 and becoming the guardian of the Cattier signature.
