Benoît Lahaye

For several years now, Benoît and his wife Valérie have been joined by their sons Valentin and Étienne, who carry on their careful work in the vineyard and cellar to produce expressive, distinctive wines. The estate recently expanded with the addition of half a hectare of vines formerly owned by Marie-Noëlle Ledru, and a new winery has been built. The ongoing exchange of ideas between father and sons about their vision for the wines is a pleasure to follow and confirms the estate’s strength. With malolactic fermentation completed and no masking dosage, these Champagnes show intense flavors of ripe grapes in an increasingly airy style. Moving beyond the fruit-driven side of Pinot Noir, they patiently build the mineral depth expected from a great cru.
