Pierre Paillard

Established in Bouzy for more than two hundred years, the house is run by brothers Antoine and Quentin Paillard, the eighth generation of the family. The Paillards settled in Bouzy at the start of the eighteenth century. Earlier generations were shepherds, then innkeeper-carters and schoolmasters. Around 1768, an ancestor, Antoine Paillard, bought a few vineyard plots in Bouzy and became a winegrower. The historic vineyard covers eleven hectares entirely within the legendary Grand Cru terroir of Bouzy. Its chalky soils and southern exposure give the Pinot Noirs of this great site their distinctive character and identity.
