Since Raoul Bouché, a cooper by trade, founded the estate, five generations have followed. Today Antonin continues the work of those before him, using gentle, natural vineyard methods to secure the best harvest and a true expression in the wines, inspired by the courage and determination his mother showed throughout her life. The vineyard, just over 4 hectares, is spread across a range of terroirs in the Coteaux Sud d’Épernay: Moussy, Vinay, Brugny-Vaudancourt and Saint-Martin-d’Ablois.
The area’s patchwork of soils—clay with flint, loam, calcite with flint, millstone fragments and more—combined with Campanian chalk subsoils allows Meunier (75%), Chardonnay (23%),and Pinot Noir (2%) to draw what they need for full expression. Around 70% of the vines come from massal selections, a method the estate continues to maintain, and they are farmed with respect for plant life and nature, without chemical herbicides or insecticides. Certified Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) and Viticulture Durable en Champagne (VDC), the domaine follows a pragmatic, highly artisanal approach.
