Leclerc Briant

In 2012 Mark Nunnelly and Denise Dupré bought Leclerc Briant, saving the house from obscurity. The American couple, drawn to the French art de vivre, fell for this unconventional estate and brought in Champenois native Frédéric Zeimett to lead it. Under his direction the house continues to operate on the edge of Champagne’s conventions, expressing a distinctive style now recognized internationally. Leclerc Briant was also among Champagne’s early biodynamic pioneers: in the late 1950s Bertrand Leclerc first introduced organic principles, and his son Pascal, the fifth generation, later pursued certification.
