Coopérative viticole de Coulommes Vrigny

Established in 1960, this cooperative brings together around one hundred members, including vineyard owners and approximately forty growers from Coulommes-la-Montagne, Vrigny and neighboring villages. The vineyard area totals 125 hectares. The cooperative operates in an unusual way, with no salaried staff: growers themselves handle racking, cleaning, filtration and blending. Some members bring grapes solely for pressing and sale by weight to Champagne houses. The cooperative has no house label; growers who vinify can reclaim their wines at any stage, whether as settled juice, base wines or bottles aging on the lees. Those who take back bottles adjust aging to suit their intended style and carry out disgorgement themselves.
