Founded in 1974 in Cirò Marina by Cataldo Calabretta, Gaetano Cianciaruso, and Armando Susanna, Cantina Enotria was created to shorten the distance between growers and consumers by producing honest, artisanal wines. Today, the winery is run by the founders’ descendants—Saverio Calabretta and Armando Susanna (son and grandson, respectively).
Their original vision remains intact: cultivating 60 hectares across five scenic districts between the sea and the hills. Under the guidance of oenologist Tonino Guzzo, they grow both native and international varieties (Greco Bianco, Pecorello, Magliocco, Gaglioppo, and Nerello Calabrese). The winery blends traditional practices with modern technology, using steel tanks, glass-block fermenters, and oak barrels to craft expressive Cirò DOP wines.
The company's production philosophy remains the same as its origins, cultivating 60 hectares spread across five picturesque districts between the sea and the hills, producing Cirò DOP wine under the expert guidance of Tonino Guzzo. With expert care, international and native varietals (Greco Bianco, Pecorello, Magliocco, Gaglioppo, and Nerello Calabrese) are cultivated.
The winery, located on State Road 106, features steel fermentation tanks, glass-block tanks, and oak barrels for aging. The processes are largely artisanal, but supported by cutting-edge technology to bring out the best in the wines.
